David Edwin Rousculp is a producer, an award-winning screenplay writer and playwright who recently won the Northeast Indiana Playwright competition 2017 with his play My Dead Clown.

He later became very involved in the independent film industry and kept very busy as an actor in film and television. International Movie Data Base (IMDB.cm) notes David Rousculp, actor, as one of the most popular people born in Lima, Ohio.
Rousculp’s “Real Profession” as he calls it, is in the funeral business. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Indiana and Ohio. David is one of the most experienced funeral directors in the U.S. and has been in the profession for over 35 years. He is the general manager of Harper Funeral Home, New Haven, Indiana. My Dead Clown is based on a funeral director and he pulls many of his ideas from working at the funeral home.
The play was originally written as a short movie and it won in 2005 at the Indie Gathering Film Festival. After he was unable to get the script to screen he shelved the story till he moved to New Haven, Indiana and decided to convert the movie to a play. After winning in the 2017 Northeast Playwright Festival and seeing the reaction of the crowd as it was read aloud by local actors in Fort Wayne, he was inspired to continue writing it into a full-length play.
David had several theater groups interested in producing it following the ceremony and in July 2017 he chose to co-produce it at The First Presbyterian Theater, Fort Wayne in July 2018.
